TIPS FOR PULLING CABLE
Always pull cable at a steady rate. Do not yank cable to avoid stretching or kinking the cable.
Never let the cable coil up any tighter than a fist.
When pulling cable from a spool, always pull off straight with the cable facing up and the spool is spinning. Never lay the spool on the floor like a table and pull cable off, this will coil the cable and lead to problems.
Keep cable away from sharp objects in ceilings and walls.
Do not use staples to tack up cables to avoid punctures, use plastic anchors or tie straps.
In the ceiling avoid any hot or cold water pipes, air condition ductwork, light fixtures, and electrical lines.
If cable becomes difficult to pull, stop immediately and go back to free the snag.
If the outside of the cable jacket rips, cover with electrical tape. If the damage cuts in to the cable deep and breaks the inner shield wires you will have to replace the cable.
Label cable on both ends to help identify later.
Take the straightest, shortest, and highest path as possible.
